Learn About The SKYBEAM Network

The SKYBEAM network uses state-of-the-art fixed wireless technology to deliver fast, reliable broadband Internet connectivity.  Fixed wireless is a technology akin to cellular in that it uses towers to communicate with antennas.  However, the type of network is called fixed wireless because both the tower and the receiving antenna are mounted on fixed locations rather than one end being moblie.  SKYBEAM does not use satellite transmission.  On the SKYBEAM wireless network transmission signals typically go just a few miles.  The two fixed locations do require line of site between them.  The short transmission distances, stability of fixed transmision locations, and use of cutting-edge transmitters and receivers creates superior network performance over satellite or mobile wireless networks. The SKYBEAM fixed wirless network is equivalent to that of the latest wired networks in speed, reliability, and low latency.

Tower sites combine state-of-the-art transmission radios to communicate and robust data connections to fiber data centers to create a carrier-class network.

Often customers will ask if weather will impact their connection.  The answer is that in most cases weather does not  impact the connection quailty on the SKYBEAM network.  In extreme weather events some slight signal degredation can occur but typically not enough to impact connectivity or degrade speeds to any significant extent.  The wireless technology used by SKYBEAM is first-class carrier quality.  Even though SKYBEAM uses wireless technology, the fact that it is fixed wireless adds to the performance quality above what mobile wireless can provide.

Fixed radio units on the customers roof communicate with tower locations and provide very reliable connectivity.
